Compressor
The heart of the heat pump. It pressurizes refrigerant into hot gas and pumps it through the heat exchanger to warm your pool water.
Compressor Capacitor
Gives the compressor the boost it needs to start and run. A weak capacitor often causes humming, clicking, or a compressor that won’t start.
High-Pressure Switch
Safety switch that shuts the unit down on high refrigerant pressure to protect the compressor from damage.
Low-Pressure Switch
Safety switch that shuts the unit down on low refrigerant pressure, a common sign of low refrigerant.
Defrost Sensor
Monitors evaporator coil temperature and triggers the defrost cycle so the coil doesn’t ice over on cold days.
Temperature Sensor
Reads incoming water temperature so the heat pump knows when to start heating and when to stop.
Water Pressure (Flow) Switch
Confirms proper water flow and PSI before the heat pump runs, protecting the compressor and keeping the unit efficient.
Control Board
The brain of the unit. Manages every electronic function, from the display and sensors to the compressor and fan.
Transformer
Steps line voltage down to the lower voltage the control board and sensors run on.
Contactor
Heavy-duty switch that sends power to the compressor and other high-voltage components when the board calls for heat.
Fan Blade
Pulls warm air across the evaporator coil. Blade pitch and size are unit-specific — the wrong blade can damage or destroy your fan motor.
Fan Capacitor
Helps the fan motor start and run. A failing fan capacitor can overheat and damage the motor.
Fan Motor
Spins the fan blade to draw in the warm air your heat pump turns into pool heat. Matched to unit-specific blades and capacitors.
